ABOUT
- [Why I do it]
When astronaut William Anders captured Earth rising above the lunar horizon in 1968, our perspective on this fragile planet shifted forever.
That image sparked a lifelong journey for me – an ongoing 40-year mission to bridge the gap between diverse human experiences and foster empathy through the power of storytelling, cultivating curiosity, dialogue, and a deeper understanding of our shared world.
This journey has taken me from documenting the impacts of climate change to exploring human rights struggles, from capturing the clashes of war to illuminating the beauty of the human condition. I strive to find new perspectives, like Sanders did, and tell stories that connect us to the world and each other.
Currently, this mission has led me to focus on Dreamtown, where I lead global storytelling and innovation. Alongside this, I pursue long-term explorations of our shared humanity and our relationship with our planet.
To further the mission, I frequently consult and teach organizations, media outlets, and journalism schools on the art of storytelling and navigating the evolving media landscape, empowering others to harness the power of narrative for positive change.
I live with my wife and three kids close to Copenhagen, Denmark, but travel the world almost monthly for my work.
